Sewing for Saint Patrick’s Day! (+BIBPC)

Recently I’ve been in a sewing phase! I seem to phase in and out of my hobbies, and lately I’ve been sewing up a storm! I made a few things that I want to show you.

First of all, I found these Saint Patrick’s Day bandannas at Target in the dollar aisle. They were each $1! So I thought it’d be cute to pick them up and make something for my dolls!

I ended up making two handkerchief skirts (the sewing tutorial is found here). I did the tutorial a little different, as I used one layer for each skirt, and then I have the option of layering them or not (they are layered in this picture).

I also made a little necktie. I think this outfit is adorable!

The last thing I’m presenting is the white T-shirt I made, shown in the outfit. I really wanted to make a white T-shirt for my dolls. They had a few, but all with designs and things on them, so now I finally have a plain one! I used this free Pixie Faire pattern.

I guess that’s it for today! I’ll probably have more things to show you sometime soon!

Post Break! (Behind the scenes)

While I was photographing the bandannas, our cat showed up… here are some photos I snapped of him!

While you’re here Kitty… I might as well dress you up… XD (He actually didn’t seem to mind too much)

Bonus shot of him at the window ๐Ÿ™‚

And thus concludes today’s “behind the scenes!”

Would you like to see more things that I sew? Do you enjoy sewing for your dolls? Are your dolls prepared to be pinch-proof on Saint Patrick’s Day?

Post for you later!

Here’s my BIBPC entry for Team Owl! (this is late on here, but I already submitted it to Megan)

The category is animal closeups.

Story: Naturally, I chose our cat, Clifford as the subject. Here is a shot I got of him on my bed, napping. ๐Ÿ™‚

And here is the poster I made for the next BIBPC, for extra points:

BIBPC #5 image

I made it to look like a poloroid photo ๐Ÿ™‚ .

BIBPC Entry + Don’t Forget!

Iย have my BIBPC (Boring into Beautiful Photography Contest) entry to show you. It’s a little past due; I was sick on Thursday/Friday and have been recovering, and so I didn’t think I’d get this in. But here it is, after long last!

Go Team Owl!

The category is Adventure:

Story: I went on a hike a while back, which is an adventure of a sort, and I brought my camera. I really liked this shot with the lens flare on the jumping cacti. What do you think?

Before you skedaddle:

Don’t forget to comment on my 100 follower Q&Aย (Whaa? I have 100 followers?! *gasps* Oh, wait, I…I knew that already… *glances around dizzily* XD ) with some questions for me to answer! I plan to post the answers soon!

Bye for now!

2016/2017 Tag +BIBPC

Kiki nominated me for the 2016/2017 tag! Thanks Kiki!

The Rules:

  1. Mention creator of tag
  2. Use the image in the article
  3. Mention blogger who has chosen you
  4. Answer the question
  5. Tag 9 other bloggers to do the post

The creator is David

The Questions:

1: Describe your 2016 in 3 words.

Different, Moving, Exciting

2: Write the names of two people who characterized you 2016.

My mom and, uhh, I’ll say my pastor/youth pastor (ok, that’s two, but let’s pretend it’s only one XD ).

3: Write the most beautiful place you visited in 2016 and why you liked it so much:

Colorado! I really liked the hills, and the nature everywhere, too.

4: Write the most delicious food you tasted in 2016.

I ate a lot of food in 2016, but I did enjoy eating sweet potatoes more XD . A more meal-like food that I really liked was a dish my aunt brought us that was basically like a chicken, ham, cheese casserole.

ย 5: Write the event which has marked you more of this in 2016?

Does this mean an event that impacted me? If so, I guess I’ll go with moving ๐Ÿ™‚ .

My Nikon l840 camera!

ย 7: Write three good intentions for 2017.

Grow in the Lord

Be more diligent

and do a bit more day/thought journaling.

8: Write 1 place you want to visit in 2017.ย

I don’t really know. Someplace outside of my state? We don’t really travel too much, so just someplace new would be cool. Hey, it’d be awesome if I traveled to the state of a blogger friend and met them! But that’s probably not happening. Must. not. say. that. XD lol

9: Write one food you want to eat in 2017.ย

Chocolate! Oh, you want to hear something more irregular than that? XD

It’d be fun to try an exotic fruit. ๐Ÿ™‚

I nominate:

Life of a Farm Doll

I hope you enjoyed!

This BIBPC entry is a little late, but hopefully it will still count.

I’m on team owl!

It is the moon shining through a tree. The moon looks like a spotlight!

Story: The category is night, and I had already taken pictures of the full moon, so I looked through and narrowed it down to two, a straightforward one of the moon, and this one. I asked my mom and brother, and when they saw this one they were like, “Oooh! That one!”

BIBPC Entry!

HI! And Happy Valentine’s Day!

Normally I post my BIBPC entry as a part of another post, so I don’t bore anyone ๐Ÿ˜‰ , but I ran out of time, so here it is!

Go Team Owl!

Story: The category is new, and there are new houses all around us being built. So I went out with my mom to try to get some shots of the construction. I chose this one out of the many I got for my entry.

The One Lovely Blog Award

I was nominated by Kiki and Abby to do this award! Thanks!!

The rules:

  1. Thank the person who nominated you and leave a link to their blog,
  2. Post about the award,
  3. Share seven facts about yourself,
  4. Nominate at most 15 people,
  5. Tell your nominees the good news!

Let’s begin! (or should I say continue, since I’ve already done steps 1 and 2… ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

7 Facts about myself (that you might not know yet):

  1. I have several nicknames. A few of which are silly ones from friends, and aren’t really used anymore.
  2. I really like art. I especially like drawing people. I have been enjoying painting lately, too.
  3. I have a dollhouse-type setup in my closet. I hope to do a tour sometime!!
  4. I love singing. If I didn’t like singing, I’d probably have to be a different person. Singing is basically part of my everyday life XD .
  5. I tend to be the kind of person who enjoys performing for people. I sing for my church, I’m in a drama group, and a few (several?) years ago when I went to private school, there was a speech contest and I wanted to be chosen to say my speech in front of the school. (I did end up getting chosen, if you were wondering, and I think I did OK, except for the part where I forgot what to say next and didn’t seem to remember that I had brought my note cards with me!)
  6. And yet, I am an introvert ๐Ÿ™‚ (Well, I’m notย too introverted).
  7. Wow! It’s the last one! Well, let’s see… it’s possible you know this, but I do gymnastics! It’s a lot of fun. I’m only in level two, though, because I started pretty late. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope you enjoyed reading this award!

Aaand, here is my BIBPC entry!

The subject is “Sweet” and I am on Team Owl!

Mmmm *licks lips*

I think these were actually the first treats that popped into my head when I got the category. And then when I told my mom about it, she gave me this cute little beaded plate to use!
