A Basket of Thankfulness – Thanksgiving Activity 2018

Hello everyone! Happy November!

Welcome to Smile and Craft AG’s third annual Basket of Thankfulness activity!

A Basket of Thankfulness 2018

Here is a link to view the ones from 2017 and 2016!

I love Thanksgiving; it is probably my favorite holiday! I love hosting these activities each year and seeing the many things that you all are thankful for! It’s such a blessing to me, and I hope to you as well!

So, let’s get into it!

What is A Basket of Thankfulness?

In case you weren’t here last year, or if you forgot, A Basket of Thankfulness is an activity that occurs each November to inspire us to be thankful. The process is simple: you comment with a list (or just one thing is OK too!) of things you are thankful for, and on Thanksgiving day I publish a post with a big compilation of all of the things we thought of over November!

What are the Rules?

  • Comment below with things you are thankful for. You can comment with as few or as many things you want! However, make sure you are thoughtful about the things you comment. Don’t just write down everything that’s sitting on your desk at the moment.
  • Then, on Thanksgiving day, I will compile and post all the things we’ve listed (without repeats) and put them in a big numbered list of things we’re thankful for! I will also list the contributors. 🙂
  • Please note, if I, and/or my mom, decide that anything posted is inappropriate or against our convictions, we can remove any item commented from the list.

Also, please spread the word about this activity–I would really appreciate it! Let’s make a list bigger than ever, and grow in thankfulness in the process!

So, what are you thankful for?

Have a blessed day!

Happy Resurrection Day! {{Easter 2018}}

Happy Easter everyone!

Today I’m here with some family photos of my dolls in the Easter outfits that you all voted on for them!

I hope you enjoy the pictures. Most importantly, my hope and prayer is that you remember the reason we celebrate Easter.

It’s not the rabbits, the chocolate, the egg hunts.

It is Resurrection Day. A day we commemorate Jesus rising from the grave after his death on the cross, conquering death and sin.

And as the song “Glorious Day” puts it,

~Living He loved us.

Dying He saved us.

Buried He carried our sins far away.

Rising He justified, freely forever.

And one day He’s coming back, oh glorious day!~

We don’t deserve His love, yet he freely gives it. Don’t take this message lightly! It is the most important news the world will ever know. Without it, we are doomed to eternity in Hell.

“All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him [Jesus] the iniquity of us all.” ~Isaiah 53:6

There is hope in the power of the cross!

“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved.” ~Acts 16:31. Visit my “What I Believe” page, or find a Bible church for more information 🙂 . And for those of you who are Believers, let’s rejoice in Jesus’ sacrifice, today and for eternity!

And now, onto the photos!

Favorite photo? Favorite thing you did this Easter? Did the dolls wear the outfits you voted for them?

I hope you enjoyed the pictures, and that you had a blessed Easter!

Bonus photo comparison:

I was using a white poster-board as a reflector. The above photo is an unedited picture without a reflector.

And this one is an unedited picture with the reflector! I simply propped the board in front of me while I took the pictures. It really seems to even out the shadows, and help their eyes to shine a little more.

Choose My Dolls’ Easter Outfits! {Mega Who-Wears-it-Best Game}

Hi!

Can you believe that Easter is almost a week away!

I thought it would be fun to have you all essentially pick out my dolls’ Easter dresses through a Who-Wears-it-Best game! Then I can dress up my dolls in the outfit that wins the vote for each of them, and make an Easter post (possibly a photoshoot) of them dressed up in the outfits you all chose!

So here’s how it works…

I will show you pictures of an outfit on each of my dolls. After the set of pictures will be a poll, in which you can vote for whomever you think looks best in the outfit.

Or you could look through all the pictures first, before voting on a different outfit for each doll.

Whichever voting process you choose, or if you just want to sit back and look at the pictures, have fun! I look forward to seeing what you all come up with!

Let’s begin!

That’s about it! I hope you had fun!

And as for Consuelo’s dress…

You’ll have to wait for Easter! 😉

Have you picked out your dolls’ Easter outfits? Or are you still surprised that Easter is only in a week? 🙂

One more thing…. Camp NaNoWriMo is coming up in April, anyone planning to participate? If so… does anyone have a cabin open for new members/want to start a cabin? 🙂 Let me know in the comments!

Have a blessed day!

Welcome to 2018 – Little update and Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year 14.jpg

A new year has officially arrived! I am so excited for a fresh, new slate with so much to be seen as God unfolds His faithfulness and perfect plan for the year.

God is so good, which should never be mistaken to think that 2018 will be full of idealistic good times and happiness, but it does mean that God has a perfect plan for us, to refine His people, and to one day return to judge the world and rule us perfectly in glory, wiping away the stain of sin and tears for those who have followed Him in this life.

A Small Update of Sorts:

I love blogging at Smile and Craft AG, and I hope you love reading and are encouraged by it. Last semester I had some trouble keeping up on posting, and this year will probably be even busier for me, as I plan to get a job on top of school.

That being said, I’m not completely sure what the coming year/semester will look like with posting consistency, so I just wanted to give a little heads-up about that. Hopefully I’ll still be able to post relatively often, but I’ll have to wait and see! 🙂

So anyways, Happy New Year!!

So this post isn’t picture-less, here’s a dramatically lighted picture of my cat, Callie, sitting at the piano (with the beautiful song, Blessings, on the stand). (Edited in Photoshop)

What are you looking forward to for 2018? What would you like to see on Smile and Craft AG this year?
